Letter from the State
Superintendent of Schools
Dear Maryland Educators, Students, Families, Partners, and Community Members,
I am pleased to share Maryland’s 2025 Career and Technical Education (CTE) Impact
Report, which celebrates the achievements of students, educators, and partners across
our state.
Maryland’s CTE programs play a vital role in preparing students for the future by
combining rigorous instruction with real-world learning. Through industry-recognized
credentials, youth apprenticeships, dual enrollment, and hands-on experiences with
industry partners, students are gaining the skills, confidence, and opportunities needed
for lifelong success.
The stories in this report reflect the Core Values that guide our work and highlight the
innovation, collaboration, and commitment that define CTE in Maryland. They also
demonstrate how CTE advances the goals of the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future,
expanding access to high-quality pathways and ensuring students graduate ready for
college, career, and life.
I extend my sincere gratitude to the educators, school leaders, employers,
postsecondary partners, and community members who make this work possible4and
to the students whose determination and talent inspire us each day.
Thank you for your commitment to Maryland’s students and to the continuous
improvement of our CTE system. Together, we are building a stronger, more
prosperous future for our state.
Sincerely,
Carey M. Wright, Ed.D.
