Growing CTE Leaders: AACPS Launches Inaugural Leadership Academy
Anne Arundel County Public Schools (AACPS) successfully launched its first-ever CTE
Leadership Academy during the 202432025 school year, funded through the federal
Perkins grant. This high-impact professional development initiative supported both
middle and high school Career and Technical Education teachers and aligned closely
with Perkins goals and the findings of the Comprehensive Local Needs Assessment.
Designed to strengthen and retain high-quality CTE educators, the academy provided
eight full-day sessions where participants engaged in meaningful, systems-level
learning that deepened their understanding of how CTE integrates within the broader
AACPS structure.
