Advancing CTE through Community Engagement, Outreach, and Industry
Collaboration
Prince George’s County Public Schools has advanced CTE outcomes through a
coordinated strategy focused on community engagement, educator development, and
strong industry collaboration. A district-led coding event drew more than 500 families,
providing early exposure to computer science and STEM pathways. Building on this
success, the district launched themed professional development to help teachers
integrate computer science into their instruction. At the same time, PGCPS expanded
business and industry partnerships, increasing access to certifications and aligning
work-based learning with regional workforce needs.
