Building the Pipeline: Frederick County’s Educators and Employers Unite
to Strengthen the Local Workforce
Frederick County is setting the standard for true collaboration. Through a strong
partnership between Frederick County Public Schools (FCPS), Frederick Community
College (FCC), and local business and industry leaders, the community is building a
powerful pipeline that prepares students for in-demand careers close to home.
At the heart of this work is the Local Advisory Committee, comprising employers and
educators who actively guide program development by sharing real-time workforce
needs, emerging certifications, and the skills students must possess to succeed. Their
insight ensures FCPS and FCC programs align with industry expectations and lead to
meaningful college and career opportunities.
Employers like Dynamic Automotive demonstrate the impact of this collaboration by
engaging students through Youth Apprenticeships and Maryland’s Registered
Apprenticeship Program, creating a steady talent pipeline while offering hands-on
training and clear career pathways.
