JROTC Northern Garrett High School First Generation College Student
Attends West Point
Kambria Kyle, a 2025 graduate of Northern Garrett High School’s JROTC program, is the
school’s first student to attend West Point. She chose the U.S. Military Academy over
offers from the Air Force Academy, The Citadel, and Virginia Military Institute. A firstgeneration college student, Kambria served three years as JROTC Battalion
Commander and led the Raider Team, earning 10 Ultimate Raider Individual
Championships. She also excelled as a Girls State Ambassador, National Honor Society
President, and Garrett County Association of Student Councils President. Her
outstanding leadership earned her the 2025 Young Woman of Distinction Award from
the Garrett County Commission for Women and the Maryland Young Women Leaders
Award and Scholarship, presented by Governor Wes Moore.
