From Study to Simulation: Building East County’s Healthcare Pipeline
A feasibility study identified health sciences as a high-impact growth area for
Montgomery College’s East County presence. With support from the Perkins Grant,
three lab spaces at the East County Educational Center were outfitted with industryaligned equipment for Nursing, LPN, and Allied Health programs, including a flexible
lab that maximizes instructional access. Beginning Summer 2025, approximately 60
students will train using authentic patient-care tools that mirror local healthcare
facilities, reducing the clinical learning curve, strengthening skill competency, and
improving workforce readiness.
