Pathways Without Barriers: CTE Exploration Tours Promote Equity and
Access at TCPS
Talbot County Public Schools (TCPS) hosted inclusive, hands-on CTE exploration tours
at Easton High School for all 5th and 8th grade students, as well as high school
students new to the county, ensuring early and equitable access to career pathway
information for every learner. Student CTE ambassadors partnered with Spanish
interpreters to remove language barriers and create welcoming, accessible
experiences for students and families. Participants toured CTE classrooms, met
instructors, explored labs, and experienced real-world learning in action across
programs offered at both county high schools. By intentionally reaching students
early and providing meaningful exposure to high-quality CTE opportunities, these
tours help students see themselves in future careers and make informed decisions as
they develop and refine their 5-year academic and career plans.
